Principal's Message - December 5, 2025

Principal's Message - December 5, 2025

Hello ThunderHawk Families,

This week was full of excitement as the East Winter Jazz Fest brought incredible performances to East on Thursday night and our winter sports teams officially kicked off their seasons. We even had an unexpected snow day on Tuesday, we hope everyone took advantage of the extra time to play in the snow or relax and recharge!

Looking ahead, next week features the Bands’ Gift of Music Concert on Friday and Saturday. These performances are always a highlight of the season, full of talent, energy, and holiday spirit, so we hope you’ll join us and experience the incredible music our students have prepared. And don’t forget, we hope to see you tonight at our first home boys basketball game!

It’s hard to believe we only have two weeks left in the first semester. Please remember that semester grades, which appear on transcripts, are calculated as an average of the first quarter, second quarter, and the final exam. Take a moment to check your current grades and make sure you’re on track before finals week begins.

Have a fantastic weekend, Go Hawks!

Lakota East High School Principal

Early Dismissal Policy

If your student needs to leave early from Lakota East for the remainder of the year or on End-of-Semester Exam Days, please send a handwritten note with them in the morning.

They should bring the note to the Main Office, where they will receive a pass to leave school at the designated time.

Please note:

  • The Main Office uses student aides (when available) to notify students to leave class.
  • The office does not make calls to classrooms.
  • On exam days, students cannot be called out of an exam room once testing has started. They will only be dismissed when the bell rings to end the testing period.
