Principal's Message - February 27, 2026

Principal's Message - February 27, 2026

Hello Thunderhawk Families,

Verification Sheets were due by 3:00PM today, Friday, February 27. If your student did not return it, please have them turn it in to the Counseling Office on Monday. This is very important so that we know what classes the students are wanting to take next school year.

ACT

On Tuesday, our juniors took the ACT. Thank you to Mr. Howard and Mrs. Scott for organizing everything so smoothly. At the same time, sophomores completed the OST Benchmark, and our English 10 teachers are already using the data to sharpen instruction leading up to the spring test.

Staff of the Month

We also celebrated a well‑deserved honor as Dr. Grote was voted Staff Member of the Month! Her dedication and positive influence continue to make a big impact across our building.

Concerts

The arts brought even more energy this week with our Winter Choral and Band Concerts. Our student performers put on outstanding shows and made us all proud.

Senior Meeting

Looking ahead, we will have a Senior Meeting next Wednesday during Hawktime in the Auditorium. We’ll also send out a ParentSquare message with all of the information shared, so families can stay in the loop.

Club Pictures

On March 5, Club Pictures will be taken in the gym during 2nd & 4th bells. Club Picture Schedule

"Light Up" Lakota

The "Light Up Lakota" school showcase is returning on March 11. It will be held at Lakota East High School from 6:00-7:30PM. This is Lakota's biggest district-wide event of the year, and it spotlights academics, extracurricular activities, programs and services that Lakota students enjoy every single day. The event is open to the entire community. This year, there will also be an art gallery displaying student talent and visual arts projects from most schools.

And don’t forget, the quarter ends in just two weeks, so now is a great time for students and families to check HAC and make sure everything is on track.

And the excitement continues this weekend! On Saturday, we host the District gymnastics meet in our gym, where we’ll also celebrate Senior Night for our athletes. Come out and cheer on our Hawks!

Have a great weekend!
