Principal's Message - May 9, 2025
Dear Thunderhawk Families,
As we approach the final stretch of the school year, we want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible events and accomplishments happening across our campus.
Prom 2025 – A Night to Remember
Last Saturday’s prom was a huge success! Thank you to our staff, volunteers, and students for making it a magical evening filled with elegance, joy, and unforgettable memories.
AP Testing Underway
We’ve officially kicked off the first week of AP testing. Our students have been working hard all year, and we’re proud of their dedication and focus. Keep up the great work!
Senior Celebrations & Graduation Prep
Senior Nights are in full swing as we honor our Class of 2025 athletes, artists, and scholars. Seniors, your last academic day is Wednesday, May 15. Please check your student’s Home Access Center (HAC) to ensure they are passing all required courses. If you have any concerns, reach out to your counselor immediately.
All graduation information can be found on the Lakota Graduation OneStop—your go-to resource for dates, requirements, and event details.
Important Reminder for CCP Students
If a student fails a College Credit Plus (CCP) course, a fee from the university will be added to their student account. This fee must be paid before transcripts can be released.
Underclassman Awards
On May 19 at 1:30pm in the gym, we will host our 2025 Academic Awards Ceremony for our underclassman. Invitations were mailed this afternoon. Parents are welcome to attend as we honor our nominated students.
Spring Choir Concert
Our talented choir students performed this week in their final concert of the year. Thank you to those that were able to support their hard work and beautiful voices!
Teacher Appreciation Week
We’re celebrating our incredible educators all week long! Thank you to our teachers for your passion, commitment, and the countless ways you inspire our students every day.
Help our Office Run Smoothly
If your student will need to leave Lakota East for the remainder of the year, we are asking that you send a handwritten note in with your student to the Main Office. We are unable to interrupt classrooms with phone calls and student aides will not be available to run passes to dismiss your student. Sending a note will ensure that your student will be able to leave school on time. On exam days, we will be unable to dismiss students early from exams until the exam period is over for the entire class.
Congratulations to Stacey Lane!
We are thrilled to announce that Stacey Lane has been awarded the Diamond Award, formerly known as Educator of the Year! This prestigious recognition is a testament to her outstanding dedication and impact on our school community.
Looking Ahead
The finish line is in sight, and we’re ready to celebrate all that our students have accomplished. Let’s finish strong and make these final weeks unforgettable!
Have a great weekend,
Matt MacFarlane
