Principal's Message - October 31, 2025

Principal's Message - October 31, 2025

What a week to be a Thunderhawk!

Last weekend, our football team earned a hard-fought victory over West. The support from our community was incredible—thank you to everyone who came out to cheer on the Thunderhawks. Your presence made a real impact.

Our talented band also had a successful trip to Indianapolis, where they performed beautifully and represented Lakota East with professionalism and pride. Their hard work and dedication continue to impress us all.

This weekend, we’re wishing our cross country runners the best as they compete in the state championship. Their commitment and perseverance have brought them to this exciting moment, and we know they’ll give it their all.

And tonight—it’s playoff time! We’re hosting a home football playoff game, and we want to see the stands packed with Thunderhawk pride. Bring your spirit, wear your black and silver(or Halloween costumes), and let’s make some noise as our team fights for another big win!

Looking ahead, please remember that students will not have school on Tuesday, November 4, due to Election Day. If students or families are interested in learning more about the candidates running for the Lakota School Board, we encourage you to watch the Meet the Candidates Night hosted by our Spark students. You can view the full stream here: Meet the Candidates Night.

Next weekend, November 8–9, is the annual Lakota East PTSO Holiday Arts & Crafts Show, one of the biggest fundraisers of the year. With over 225 artisan booths, food trucks, and unique gifts, it’s a great way to kick off the holiday season. All proceeds benefit our students and staff. If you haven’t joined the PTSO yet, now’s a great time—click here to register.

We also need volunteers to help make the Craft Show a success! Whether you're a student or parent, your time and energy are greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your continued support of our students and school community. Have a great weekend and Go Thunderhawks!

Have a great weekend,

Matt MacFarlane
