Senior Section - May 2025

Hello LEHS Class of 2025 Graduate and Parent/Guardian of STUDENT,

I hope this email finds you well as we near the end of this school year. The School Counselors wanted to reach out to remind you of some important information at the end of your final year.

 

Seniors Final Week

Wednesday/Thursday (May 14 & 15) - Block Schedule - Possible Exams for Semester Classes

Friday (May 16)- 

• Chromebook return and locker clean-out 8:10-8:55 or immediately after meeting
• Senior Meeting will start at 9AM in theatre
• Seniors will not be permitted to walk around the building as grades 10/11 will be in class.

 

Diploma Information:

Are you ON TRACK to meet the Diploma with Honors OR Regular Diploma

All seniors must meet graduation requirements in order to participate in the graduation ceremony. Lakota East does not allow for ‘ceremonial walks’ i.e. participation in the graduation ceremony for students who have not met graduation requirements but will do so in the summer or soon after. If you have questions about your student’s status, please contact their counselor. 

If you have a question about this status, please reach out to your School Counselor. ON TRACK means that the student will continue to pass classes and earn the required credits needed for Graduation.

 

REQUIRED Senior Survey:

• The Senior Survey is REQUIRED for all seniors. This Survey is important to send your final transcript to the correct destination and confirm your participation in the Graduation Ceremony on May 22nd.
  • Log in your student Schoolinks Account through One Login.
  • Scroll down your To Do list to May: Senior Year End Activity
• Please complete the survey by May 1, 2025.

Cap and Gown Update

Graduation Caps and Gowns were delivered April 22nd. Student must have their fees paid in order to receive their Cap and Gown. For students with unpaid fees, their caps and gowns will be held with the bursar until payment arrangements are made. Final transcripts will be held until all outstanding fee balances are resolved and Chromebooks returned. We work diligently with families to ensure that every student gets what they need to participate in the graduation ceremony, and we will handle any situation of this manner privately and discreetly.

Volunteers & Donations Needed for the Senior Picnic, which is Monday, May 19 from 11:00-1:00

Senior Picnic is one of the final events for our LEHS Seniors! As a class, they are invited to celebrate their academic journey, achievements, and friendships before they graduate!

We will be serving pizza, sandwiches, chips, baked goods, and drinks. There will be games for the Seniors to enjoy. 

DONATIONS: 

• We are asking for food, water, and paper good donations.  
• *Please bring (or send with your Senior) ALL donations to the Main Office no later than Friday, May 16, 2025.

We are asking for two groups of volunteers –

• Group 1: Arrive before the Parade of Graduates to help set-up the games and food
• Group 2: Arrive after the Parade of Graduates to serve food, monitor the games, and clean up. 

This way any Senior parent who wants to attend the Parade of Graduates would be able to do so and still volunteer at our event.

Parade of Graduates

• On May 19th, graduates from Lakota East High School are invited to parade the hallways at one of the East elementary schools dressed in their caps and gowns. Many seniors return to the building where they once attended. The younger students line the halls, cheering on and celebrating the seniors as they pass and as a parting souvenir, give each senior hand-written letters of advice and encouragement. Students who plan to participate must take Lakota buses to and from the elementary building. Graduation Tickets

• Each Senior participating in Graduation will receive 8 tickets at Cintas. Families can request more tickets at the Ticket request link. The link to order Graduation Tickets will continue to be live until; May 14th, but we encourage people to order them early. There is no cost for tickets, but we do have a limit on how many Xavier provides us. For this reason, we will cap student tickets at 20. If you need more than 20 tickets, we will take your request into consideration by emailing Mr. MacFarlane (matthew.macfarlane@lakotaonline.com)

• May 16 - Seniors last day (clean out lockers, turn in chrome-book, etc.)
• May 19 - Senior Sunrise @ 6:00am in the stadium
• May 19 - Senior Car Show @ 7:30am in the parking lot
• May 19 - Processional down Main Street @ 9:30am
• May 19 - Parade of Graduates @ 9:30am to start lining up and the buses leave at 10:00am
• May 19 - Senior Picnic @ 11:30am in the stadium
• May 20 - Graduation Practice @ 9:00am in the gym; REQUIRED to participate in the ceremony
• May 22 - Graduation at Cintas Center @ 8:00pm
