Stuff the Bus

The Lakota Board of Education’s 18th annual district-wide food drive for Reach Out Lakota will run Sept. 29 through Oct. 10, aiming to meet or exceed last year's record-breaking collection of almost 60,000 items. In true “WE are Lakota” fashion, the district is challenging families, staff and community members (who are able) to help “stuff the bus” with canned goods and other non-perishable items most needed by the primary food and clothing pantry for families in West Chester and Liberty townships. Donations can be dropped off at the Main Office

Judy B Food Drive

It’s time for the Sixth Annual Judy Buckenmyer Memorial Food Drive! Judy was a beloved math teacher at East who passed away unexpectedly in the spring of 2020.  Judy cared deeply for her students and her community.  If Judy saw a need, she filled it.  She was known as Lakota East’s #1 fan for attending events to see her students in action.  She had a quick wit and dry sense of humor.  With the passage of time, there are no longer any students in the building who knew Judy.   This food drive is our way of remembering our friend and sharing with students what a great person she was.  Collected items are donated to the Faith Community Food Pantry on Cox Road in West Chester, which serves Butler County residents. Lakota East staff and students will collect items the week of October 6-10th.  Our offices are open 7:00am-3:30pm during the week. Students will participate through their teams and clubs. The Food Drive benefits Faith Community Methodist Church food pantry.
