Senior Yard Signs
04/16/2021
Over 600 senior yard signs have been personalized with the names of all of our graduating seniors! THE SURPRISE: The PTSO has purchased a yard sign for each graduating senior this year. Instead of delivering directly to their homes or asking them to come pick them up, our AMAZING PTSO has displayed them on the school grounds for all to see! Everyone will show up to school today (Monday, 4/19) to a glorious display of Class of 2021 PRIDE. THE PLAN BEAUTIFULLY EXECUTED: As a kickoff to sending our Senior Class off properly, the signs were placed in the ground on Sunday evening, 4/18, and are to be displayed for the entire week (4/16-4/23) on the campus of LEHS week. On Friday, 4/23, Seniors will be able to go find their sign and take it home with them to proudly display in their own front yards. We ask that the signs remain on campus until Friday, 4/23, as we begin our countdown of “saying goodbye” to our beloved Class of 2021. Beginning Friday, April 23rd, Seniors and Senior families: LET'S SEE YOUR #YardSignSelfie! Make sure you tag @EAST_HAWKS & @LEHS_PTSO! Thank you to all of our AWESOME parent & student volunteers who helped to make this special event happen!

Senior End of the Year Activities
03/20/2021
We are excited to announce our plans to celebrate the Class of 2021. While we know this has been a difficult year for our seniors, we are so proud of the way they have persevered. Every difficult decision we have made has had the safety of our students at the forefront. As Governor DeWine and the Ohio Department of Health have begun to increase attendance at events, we have been in close contact with our partners regarding graduation and prom. Additionally, our teams have been working hard to shift our plans to an in-person Parade of Graduates event that would be safe for our seniors and the students and staff at the elementary schools. While we are still working out many details, we are pleased to confirm the following events to celebrate the Class of 2021: • Prom will be held as scheduled with the following protocols: o In order to meet capacity restrictions and keep our students as safe as possible, prom will be limited to seniors only with no outside guests. We know that this will be a disappointment for some students. However, one of the reasons we have been able to remain in-person for so long is by not allowing visitors in our buildings. With this in mind, we will follow the same protocols for prom. o Lakota East’s prom will be held on May 8th at the Sharonville Convention Center. o We will not hold after prom this year. o More details about ticket sales will be shared by the prom committee. • • Parade of Graduates will be held in person this year with the following protocols: • o The parade will take place outside at each elementary school. o For safety reasons, seniors who choose to participate must ride Lakota’s buses to the event. o Parents will be permitted to attend the parade, but must remain in the designated area at each school. The parade will take place on May 17th at 10 a.m., with May 18 serving as the rain date. o More information, along with an electronic signup form, will be shared by each school. • Graduation will be held at Xavier University’s Cintas Center. • o At this time, indoor venues must follow capacity restrictions, which means our families will be required to have tickets to attend. More information about registering for tickets and the number allotted per family will be shared in the coming weeks as we receive guidance from Cintas. o Graduation will be live streamed, courtesy of Cintas Center, for those who cannot attend. o Lakota East’s graduation will take place on May 19th. • • Senior Awards Ceremony will be held in our Main Gymnasium • o In order to meet capacity restrictions and keep our students as safe as possible, we will host only Senior Awards this Spring; o Senior Awards Ceremony will be held on May 4th at 6pm We will continue to work through the logistics and release more details as they are available.

Graduation Date, Prom, End of the Year Recognitions and Planning
02/07/2021
Our High Schools and district officials are having conversations surrounding these events and hope to have final decisions soon. Just know that it is our goal to recognize our students and highlight their many accomplishments as much as we can, while still following our safety protocols and guidance. When final details are ready, we will communicate those. He

Quarantined Student Expectations
11/21/2020
Our goal is to ensure that "quarantine" learning does not cause frustration or additional stress for students, families and/or teachers. The number of students in quarantine or isolation requires us to make it a priority to provide a quality, consistent and relevant remote learning experience. Many of our teachers are doing some great things in regards to engaging students while in isolation/quarantine and we will continue to work diligently to support our students.

When we put out a call for donations to our THUNDERHAWK family for the Boy’s & Girl’s Club of Westchester, we had no idea it would be met so quickly, and in such a big way! We all want to help our community in any way we can, and this rang true with this giving campaign. We especially wanted to support the Boy’s & Girl’s club, which is a longtime partner of the district and serves so many in our community.

National Honor Society Builds the Future: The East Solar Array
10/21/2020
In the summer of 2020, Lakota East became the first public school in Southwest Ohio to install a solar array, thanks to the efforts of the National Honor Society. What was little more than an idea 12 months ago is now a physical structure on the roof of the auxiliary gym. The East array will help power the school for decades to come with clean, renewable energy. Bringing this project from inception to reality involved a variety of obstacles: navigating county permits, convincing Lakota School District to enter a partnership with Solar Is Freedom, and not least, raising $20,000. However, these obstacles were no match for the vision and determination of East’s NHS chapter. Watch the video to learn more.
